.HK Domain Name Rules / Requirements

LICOSYS Technologies provides Registration services under the following extensions:

- .HK (for local or overseas individuals or entities)

- .COM.HK (for industrial, commercial, financial enterprises)

- .NET.HK (for networks)

- .ORG.HK (for non-profit organizations)

- .EDU.HK (for registered schools, tertiary institutions and other approved educational institutions in Hong Kong)

- .IDV.HK (for residents of HKSAR)

DOMAIN NAME RELATED RULES:

- A .HK domain name can be Registered for 1 to 10 years.

- .HK domain names can only contain alphabets a to z, numbers 1 to 9 and hyphens. However, domain names cannot have two hyphens in the third place.

- There is no country specific requirement for registering a .HK domain name. However, the following supporting documents need to be provided to complete the Registration process:

For .HK

- Registrant : ID Card / Residence Booklet / Driving License / Passport copy

For .COM.HK

- A copy of the Business Registration Certificate (BR) issued by the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) of HKSARG not registered as a Branch, i.e. name of the organisation shall be that of the head office, not a branch office, or

- A copy of the Certificate of Registration of Overseas Company issued by the Company Registry (CR) of HKSARG, or

- A copy of the Certificate of Registration of Non-Hong Kong Company issued by the Company Registry (CR) of HKSARG, or

- Other documentary proof required for the application of .org.hk, .edu.hk or .net.hk with a letter stating the reason of selecting .com.hk

For .ORG.HK

- A copy of the tax exemption letter issued by Inland Revenue Department (IRD) that shows your organisation is a charity or not-for-profit organisation (under Section 88 or 87), or

- A copy of the Certificate of a Society issued by the Hong Kong Police plus a copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association (or the Articles of Association under the New Company Ordinance with effect from 3 Mar 2014) showing no dividend per share to shareholders, or

- A copy of the proof showing an exemption from Registration of a Society issued by Hong Kong Police plus a copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association (or the Articles of Association under the New Company Ordinance with effect from 3 Mar 2014) showing no dividend per share to shareholders, or

- A copy of the Certificate of Registration for trade unions or other unions, or

- A copy of Certificate of Owners' Corporation under Building Ordinance

- A copy of Registration of a Hospital / Nursing Home (under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance), or

- A copy of the Certificate of Registration of a Child Care Centre and a letter issued by the applicant declaring the centre is of not-for-profit nature, or

- Application letter issued by a Government Department of the HKSAR, or

- Gazatte / Ordinance mentioned the establishment of your organisation together with an application letter issued by your organisation if you are a statutory body, or

- A copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association (or the Articles of Association under the New Company Ordinance with effect from 3 Mar 2014) showing that no dividend per share to shareholders plus a copy of the Business Registration Certificate or Certificate of Incorporation, or Other valid document proving the not-for-profit nature of your organisation

All documents need to be emailed in PDF or JPEG format to support@licosys.com within 7 days from the time of placing a .HK Registration Order.
